Local Rules
To enhance pace of play and everyone's enjoyment of the game!
Play is by USGA rules except the following:
WAVE 14 CLUB RULE
TEE TO GREEN: Lift, clean and place. One club length, except in water, sand traps or marked hazards. *note regarding bunker play: after consulting and receiving approval of playing partners, if ball comes to rest in a bunker in a spot that is obviously an area that was poorly raked by previous players, the ball may be lifted, the spot raked, and the ball replaced in the original spot. This rule does not apply to "fried egg", "buried lies", etc. It's intended to 'make it fair' when the average weekend golfer or the golf course doesn't do a good job of raking or maintaining the bunker.
OUT OF BOUNDS/LOST BALL: One shot penalty, drop a ball in line of drive no closer to hole. (Loss of stroke, not distance.)
MULLIGANS: 2 mulligans per 18 holes. Can be used anywhere (from the tee box to a missed short putt). But you only get "2". If you choose to use a mulligan shot, you must play the mulligan shot. NO PROVISIONAL MULLIGAN SHOTS!
PUTTING: 'Inside the leather' grip (24") of 'normal length' putter is a 'gimmie' putt. Counts a 1 stroke.
SCORING: 3 strokes over par- per hole. Once you are are 3 over- pick up.
(Par 3’s max 6, Par 4’s max 7, par 5’s max 8). “Keep play moving”.
The Tournament Committee will adjust handicaps if necessary.
***Both carts must keep score for all players. Both scorecards must be turned in after round once attested by all players for accuracy***
KEEP PLAY MOVING!
Do not allow the group ahead of you to gain a full hole. Play “ready” golf.
Use the 3 stroke over plan, and if necessary take the “Play Through” action
as quickly as possible.
The ideal yardage for our group is as close to 6200 yards as possible without going much more. If that yardage is not available at the course we are playing the next set of tees at less yardage will be used. Unless otherwise directed by Tournament Director, everyone must play from the white or middle tees as announced in pre-play instructions - ladies and “over 70” seniors will play one tee box in front of regular tees.
Seniors who choose to play forward tees must notify Tournament Director prior to tournament and set handicap from those tees.
PLAYING COMMITMENT, ENTRY FEES AND CANCELLATIONS
-Please let us know your commitment to play at least one week in advance of each tournament
-If for any reason you can not play in a tournament that you have committed to, please contact one of the officers as soon as possible. At least 24 hours notice is needed. The club will do everything it can to work with you and each circumstance will be addressed on a case by case basis. If the golf course makes the association pay for "no shows" then you may have to forfeit your entry fee. If the course does not charge us, then the association will not charge you. ***However, anyone who has committed to a tournament and does not call or show up for a tournament they will be expected to forfeit their entry fee. ***
